Our Heritage

A legacy passed down through generations.

Founded by missionaries, entrusted to Haitian leaders, and carried forward for more than sixty years — Haiti Missions has never stopped serving.

  1. 1959
    The Edward Schoolcraft family founds Haiti Missions in La Victoire, in the mountains of northern Haiti.
  2. 1980s
    Dr. John I. Page becomes Executive Director and transforms the work into an indigenous, Haitian-led mission. Pastor Fortune Joseph is named its first Haitian leader.
  3. 1999
    Rev. Jonathan Cresse is appointed Executive Director, continuing the mission’s steady growth alongside Pastor Fortune.
  4. 2017
    Dr. Jonathan Page is appointed Executive Director, with Pastor Alexis Jean-Baptist leading the Haiti National Board.
  5. 2024
    Ray Banks Kluttz becomes Executive Director, carrying Haiti Missions into its seventh decade of service.

The Story Behind Our Logo

The hibiscus is the flower of Haiti — each petal a heart.

Three blooms stand for feeding the body, mind, and spirit. Blue is truth, green is wisdom, red is life. Stack the three flower centers and they form a dove — in Christianity, an emblem of peace and the Holy Spirit. The bright, cheery colors match the happiness, hope, and joy of the Haitian people.
